Illinois American Viticultural Areas for Wine Tasting
Currently Illinois has two official American Viticultural Area.
These wine regions are a great place to start when you're looking
to visit Illinois wineries
for wine tasting and winery tours.
Shawnee Hills AVA
Designated AVA on 12/27/2006 and located between the Mississippi
River and the Ohio River in southern Illinois.
Upper Mississippi
River Valley AVA
Designated AVA on 07/22/2009 and located in Northwestern
Illinois and parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa.
