Maryland American Viticultural Areas for Wine Tasting
Currently Maryland has three official American Viticultural Area.
These wine regions are a great place to start when you're looking
to visit Maryland wineries for
wine tasting and winery tours.
Catoctin Region
Designated AVA in 1983 and located in Frederick and Washington
counties of western Maryland.
Cumberland Valley
Designated AVA in 1985 and located in Washington County
in west-central Maryland and Franklin and Cumberland counties in
south-central Pennsylvania.
Linganore Region
Designated AVA in 1983 and located in north central Maryland
and include parts of Frederick and Carroll counties.
