Missouri Wine Regions
Missouri American Viticultural Areas for Wine Tasting
Currently Missouri has four official American Viticultural Area.
These wine regions are a great place to start when you're looking
to visit Missouri wineries
for wine tasting and winery tours.
Augusta Region AVA
Designated AVA on 6/20/1980 and located around the city
of Augusta where St. Charles County, Warren County and Franklin
County intersect.
Hermann Region
AVA
Designated AVA in 1983 and is contained within the larger
Ozark Mountain AVA. It is near the town of Hermann in Gasconade
County, on the southern side of the Missouri River between St. Louis
and Jefferson City.
Ozark Highlands Region
AVA
Designated AVA in 1987 and contained entirely within the
much larger Ozark Mountain AVA. It is located east of Jefferson
City and is found in portions or more than 20 counties in southern
Missouri
Ozark Mountain Region
Designated AVA in 1986 and located in portions of northwest
Arkansas, southern Missouri, and northeast Oklahoma. It is the sixth
largest AVA in the US.
