North Carolina American Viticultural Areas for Wine Tasting

Currently North Carolina has three official American Viticultural Area. These wine regions are a great place to start when you're looking to visit North Carolina wineries for wine tasting and winery tours.

Haw River Valley AVA
Designated AVA on 4/29/2009 and located in Alamance County in north-central North Carolina

Swan Creek AVA
Designated AVA on 5/27/2008 and encompassed entirely within the Yadkin Valley in the noth-western portion of the state.

Yadkin Valley AVA
Designated AVA in 2002 and located in the Yadkin River Valley including all of Wilkes, Surry, and Yadkin counties.
