There are several wine trails in North Carolina for you to travel along
and find great North Carolina wineries.
These trails are distinctly marked by XXX signs to make your journey
easy and enjoyable. These wine trails will give you clear directions
to winery locations, making it possible for you to stop at several
wineries in a short time. They are well organized routes designated
by the North Carolina Tourism and Transportation departments in collaboration
with local NC wineries which offer tours to the general public.
Some North Carolina wine trails exist soley as a collaborative effort amongst
local wineries. Whichever trail you follow, you're sure to find
an excellent variety of North Carolina wines to taste. Even if you choose
not to stop at any of the area wineries, these trails are great
ways to see the majestic landscape of North Carolina wine country. Let the
wine trails guide you down highways and country roads and into quiet
and lush vineyards and countryside. As you pass by cities like New Bern,
Wilmington, Asheville and Raleigh, there may even be some great North Carolina
wine bars designated along the way for you to stop into and
enjoy a quick lunch or dinner with a smooth glass of red or white
wine. And for those of you considering a North Carolina winery wedding,
wine trails are an excellent starting point. Drive the trails until
you find the winery that seems like the perfect spot, with just
the right views. Then stop into the winery and ask some questions
and begin making your plans! So what are you waiting for? Hit the
open roads, or wine trails, and explore North Carolina's wine country! Here
are the wine trails we've found in North Carolina.
Yadkin Valley Wine Trail
The largest wine trail in North Carolina encompassing
several smaller trails within its path. There are more than 30 wineries
as well as antique shops and dining and lodging options. Expect
to visit this trail several times before you get to taste and see
all it has to offer.
Shallowford Wine Trail
Stops at five wineries and vineyards just west
of Winston-Salem. This trail is an ideal day trip for those visiting
the Winston-Salem metropolitan area.
Yadkin River Wine Trail
Visits 7 North Carolina wineries that lie right
along the Yadkin River
Upper Yadkin Wine Trail
Visits 4 North Carolina wineries.
