There are 12 wine trails in New York for you to travel along and
find great New York wineries.
Each trail is distinctly marked by trail signs to make your journey
easy and enjoyable. These wine trails will give you clear directions
to winery locations, making it possible for you to stop at several
wineries in a short time. They are well organized routes designated
by the New York Tourism and Transportation departments in collaboration
with local NY wineries which offer tours to the general public.
Some New York wine trails exist soley as a collaborative effort
amongst local wineries. Whichever trail you follow, you're sure
to find an excellent variety of New York wines to taste. Even if
you choose not to stop at any of the area wineries, these trails
are great ways to see the majestic landscape of New York wine country.
Let the wine trails guide you down highways and country roads and
into quiet and lush vineyards and countryside. As you pass by cities
like Binghamton, New York City, Buffalo and Watertown, there may
even be some great New York wine
bars designated along the way for you to stop into and enjoy
a quick lunch or dinner with a smooth glass of red or white wine.
And for those of you considering a New York winery wedding, wine
trails are an excellent starting point. Drive the trails until you
find the winery that seems like the perfect spot, with just the
right views. Then stop into the winery and ask some questions and
begin making your plans! So what are you waiting for? Hit the open
roads, or wine trails, and explore New York's wine country! Here
are the wine trails we've found in New York.
Cayuga Lake Wine Trail
This is the oldest Wine Trail in the US with 16
wineries to visit and a variety of seasonal events to enjoy.
Seneca Lake Wine Trail
This trail is the largest and busiest wine trail
in New York State with a stops at more than 35 wineries, one distillery,
two breweries and a meadery.
Keuka Wine Trail
Visit 8 wineries and vineyards in the Fingerlakes
region of New York State.
The Shawangunk Wine Trail
Just 85 miles north of New York City this is the
perfect trail for tourists heading to the Big Apple. It runs between
the Shawangunk Mountains and the Hudson River. Visit 11 wineries
(ten are family owned) as well as special attractions, lodgings,
B&B's and restaurants.
The Canandaigua Wine Trail
Located along the western edge of the Finger Lakes
region and stopping at 7 wineries and vineyards as well as delightful
B&Bs, restaurants, and retail shops.
The Niagara Wine Trail
Located near the natural wonder of Niagara Falls,
this trail visits 13 wineries and vineyards in Northwestern New
York State
The Chautauqua-Lake Erie Wine Trail
This 40 mile trail visits 21 wineries and vineyards
along Lake Erie in Southwestern New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania.
The Western New York Wine Trail

The Dutchess Wine Trail
Located 90 miles north of NYC in the heart of
the Hudson River Valley, this short but stunning trail stops at
just 2 wineries, making it a great day trip from the Big Apple.
The North Fork Wine Trail
Visits more than 20 exceptional wineries in Long
Island Wine Country.
The Hamptons Wine Trail
Another trail within Long Island Wine Country
Visits more than 20 exceptional wineries in Long Island Wine Country.
Near the towns of Water Mill and Bridgehampton.
The Thousand Islands - Seaway Wine Trail
This is New York's newest wine trail created
in 2007 and encompassing all of Jefferson County, this exciting
new trail visits three wineries, one grape nursery, and nineteen
vineyards.
